The late Gracious Akujobi, Super Falcons Media officer from Imo state has been buried in her hometown. She lost her life on July 16th after suffering health complications in camp as the Super Falcons prepared for a match. The 37 year old media officer was buried at her hometown, Egbu-Owerri, Imo State on Saturday August 22nd.

Pulse.ng reported that the Chairperson of the Nigeria Women Football League and Member of the NFF Executive Committee, Chief (Mrs) Dilichukwu Onyedinma, led the NFF delegation to the burial.

The truth is that we are still saddened by her sudden death. Gracious Akujobi was a humble and dedicated media officer, and highly professional,” Mrs. Onyedinma told theNFF.com before the burial.

That is why the NFF has decided to play a full role in the arrangements for the burial even though she was not a staff of the Football Federation.

We cannot question the Almighty God. We love her but He loves her the more. Our prayer is that God will continue to give the family the fortitude to bear the loss, and also grant late Gracious Akujobi eternal rest.”
