It is interesting to realize that most agencies tasked with responsibilities aimed at improving the lives of the Nigerian people and Imo state in this case are now up and doing. One of such, the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR) proved they are still active by sealing close to 42 petrol stations in Owerri for various illegal activities especially selling fuel above the official pump price of N87. Some of the sealed stations were indicted with such activities as manipulating their fuel dispensers to under-dispense, adulteration and hoarding of products.

The zonal Assistant Director of Operations, Engineer Ona Edwin while speaking to press men at the Directorate’s headquarters in Owerri, said the closure of private depots engaging in similar offences strengthened the operations of the DPR, adding that it will no longer be business as usual for independent marketers who violate government regulations. He also said that 14 of the sealed stations have reopened after paying the official fine of N100, 000.

Interesting…. That is cool N1.4 million. The other ones should pay up biko. At least we are a bit confident that the money won’t miss road as PMB anti corruption campaign is still on and active.
