Remember where you come from…  is the first line from the school anthem of Government Secondary School Owerri and the 2003 graduating set of the premier institution of excellence still remembers and keeps to that anthem 12 years after leaving school.

The Owerri branch of the association led by Comr. Festus Onukuba visited the Save the Child orphanage home located at the World Bank area in Owerri to spend time with the children and present them with gifts.

Receiving the gifts, the overly impressed director and founder of the orphanage, Chief H.C. Mela thanked them for the worthy initiative. He showered ovations and blessings on them while specially hosting them in his office. He also used the opportunity to share brief history of the Red Cross Society in Nigeria, his life as a humanitarian and teacher.
