Amakohia residents break bottles on the road to get Government attention

The residents and indigenes of Amakohia located in Owerri North LGA of Imo state last week took to the major Orlu Road to protest their dissatisfaction with the current state of their homes when it rains. The flood that enters their homes have continued to be a major challenge to them and they have protested in the past to bring governments’ attention to their plight.

Last week Friday, they protested again as they blocked the Amakohia-Orlu road, broke several bottles on the road, caused serious traffic that reached as far as Ware House junction. This resulted in a lot of people trekking home and getting home very late at night. Some irresponsible fellows also took advantage of the situation to rob passersby. An eye witness said the place was later filled up with security personnel who came to ensure there is no breakdown of law and order.

I think they can utilize more civilized methods to press their demands instead of causing untold hardship on their fellow citizens.
